8 Shows I’ve Been Binge Watching During Quarantine

Unorthodox

Unorthodox is based on a best-selling memoir that captures the story of the young women escaping from her Hasidic Jewish community in New York. The show switches from flashbacks of Etsy’s life in the New York to her current situation fleeing to Berlin to start her new life, all whilst her husband is trying to track her down. As a Jewish woman, this show gave me insight to the Hasidic community that isn’t typically shown. The men in the show were oppressive and discriminatory towards the woman, and sadly this isn’t far from the truth. I would definitely recommend this show as an eye opener to get some insight into the Hasidic community.
